Does Uma Have a GOOD side? China Anne McClain sure think she does.

We’re only a few short weeks away (okay, three) from the Descendants 2 premiere, and we could not be more excited!

We talked with China Anne McClain, who is joining the cast as villain, Uma.

“Uma is sassy,” the 18-year-old actress told JJJ, “She is the daughter of Ursula from The Little Mermaid and she’s sassy just like her mother. She’s very determined, she’s driven, and ambitious in all of the wrong ways. She knows how to get what she wants and also like her mother she’s manipulative. But also fun!”

China, on the contrary, seems totally sweet — but she does have some attributes in common with Uma.

“I relate to her because when I set my mind on something I do it,” she explained. “Period. And I don’t wanna let myself down and I’m my own worst critic and that’s exactly how she is too.”

She also insists that Uma has a “sweet side,” despite what the previews may suggest

She loves her pirate gang from the bottom of her heart. She has a sweet side and she’s not just angry all of the time,” China laughed.
